The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has set September 30, 2025, as the deadline for online merchants, e-retailers, e-marketplaces, and digital platforms to register for the E-Commerce Philippine Trustmark (Trustmark).
The initiative is aimed at strengthening consumer confidence in the country’s growing e-commerce sector.
The requirement is outlined under Department Administrative Order (DAO) No. 25-12, Series of 2025, issued on September 4.
Under the order, businesses must secure a Trustmark, a digital badge allowing them to legally conduct e-commerce in the Philippines.
The mandate enforces provisions of Republic Act No. 11967, or the Internet Transactions Act of 2023, specifically Section 11 and Section 8(c) in relation to Section 12.
DTI said the mandatory registration responds to rising consumer complaints, which totaled more than 13,000 between January and August 2025.
As of September 8, several major firms had already received their Trustmark badges as early adopters of compliance.
Registered companies include Shopee Philippines, Inc. (Shopee), Bytedance Philippines Inc. (Tiktok Shop), Lalamove Philippines, Inc. (Lalamove), and LG Electronics Philippines, Inc. (LG).
Also on the roster are Asahi Electrical Manufacturing Corporation (Asahi), Cherenz Global Mfg., Inc. (TOUGHMAMA), Concepcion Midea, Inc. (Midea), and Concepcion Carrier Air Conditioning Company (Carrier).
Other firms include First Digital Finance Corporation (Billease), Mailtag Ortigas Corporation (DHL Express), and Pan-Eurasia Sales Marketing Corporation (Dowell, Edamama, and Tefal).
QuadX Inc. (Gogo Xpress and ShippingCart) and Tosot Philippines Corporation (Tosot) have also completed registration.
To earn and maintain a Trustmark, companies must comply with standards covering full business disclosure, consumer data protection, and internal complaint redress systems.
Online businesses can apply by submitting an application form and required documents through the official Trustmark portal at https://www.trustmark.dti.gov.ph.
Required documents include a business name registration, SEC or CDA registration papers, a BIR Certificate of Registration (BIR Form 2303), a valid government-issued ID of the applicant, and other applicable licenses or permits.
For inquiries, applicants may contact the DTI E-Commerce Bureau via email at trustmark@dti.gov.ph or by calling (+632) 7791.3282.
