The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) confirmed that prices of basic necessities and prime commodities (BNPCs) will remain unchanged until the end of 2025.
This assurance follows continued coordination between DTI and manufacturers to sustain current suggested retail prices (SRPs) across essential goods.
The move supports President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to safeguard consumer welfare by ensuring the affordability of everyday items.
It also aims to prevent price hikes during the holiday season, when consumer demand typically spikes.
Manufacturers reaffirmed their commitment during the Consumer Welfare Month Stakeholders’ Appreciation Night, heeding the department’s call to hold prices steady through year-end.
To support this initiative, DTI is intensifying regular market monitoring and enforcement through its Fair Trade Enforcement Bureau and local offices.
These efforts are designed to curb overpricing, profiteering, and potential disruptions to product supply.
Consumers are urged to report pricing violations via the DTI Consumer Care Hotline (1-DTI or 1-384), by email at consumercare@dti.gov.ph, or through ReportToSec@dti.gov.ph.
