The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Iloilo concluded the third year of its flagship investment and export promotion program, EXEL IN ILOILO, on Oct. 14, 2025, with participation from Local Economic and Investment Promotion Officers (LEIPOs), local government representatives, and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across the province.
This year’s program focused on encouraging local government units to adopt and implement the One Town, One Product (OTOP) Philippines Act to strengthen local enterprise development as a key driver of countryside growth.
In her welcome message, Officer-in-Charge Provincial Director Ma. Dorita Chavez urged participants to continue developing products and services that reflect local identity while remaining competitive in broader markets.
She emphasized the importance of innovation and collaboration in helping local producers expand their reach.
IJ Salcedo of the LEDIP Center–Iloilo Province presented the province’s priority investment areas and available business incentives.
Representatives from Tubungan, Maasin, Banate and Balasan highlighted their municipalities’ priority products to support the OTOP initiative.
Afternoon sessions focused on logistics, cargo handling, supply chain efficiency and packaging trends, with speakers from GS1 Philippines, Cebu Pacific Cargo, 3M Dragon Logistics Corp., LBC and LICTON.
Security Bank and BPI also provided free financial consultations to MSMEs during the event.
Now in its third year, EXEL IN ILOILO continues to connect local producers, LGUs and private sector partners to promote investments and strengthen local industries.
The program supports Iloilo’s broader economic growth agenda through innovation, enterprise support and market linkage.
