SAN LORENZO, Guimaras — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)–Guimaras, through its Negosyo Center business counselors, conducted a two-day Capacity Building on Enterprise Development (Basic Bookkeeping) Training on Sept. 9–10, 2025, in Barangay Cabano, San Lorenzo, Guimaras.
The training was held in response to a request from the Department of Agriculture–Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (DA-BFAR) Region 6 under its Market Assistance and Enterprise Development (MAED) program.
A total of 23 beneficiaries from the M. Chavez Salt Producers Association participated in the training, which aimed to enhance their entrepreneurial skills by teaching essential bookkeeping practices.
The sessions focused on proper recording of financial transactions, preparing simple financial statements, budgeting and forecasting, and the importance of maintaining accurate records to sustain and grow small enterprises.
DTI and DA-BFAR 6 remain committed to empowering local enterprises and promoting sustainable livelihood opportunities across Western Visayas.
