SAN LORENZO, Guimaras — The Department of Trade and Industry–Guimaras, through Negosyo Center staff Ruth Penuela and Ghea Rodriguez, held a two-day Capacity Building on Enterprise Development Training on Oct. 9–10, 2025 at OMA San Lorenzo in Cabano focusing on the Business Model Canvas.
The training responded to a request from the Department of Agriculture–Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Region 6 under its Market Assistance and Enterprise Development component.
Designed to strengthen the M. Chavez Salt Producers Association, the sessions equipped participants with practical tools for business modeling and strategic planning using the BMC framework.
Participants analyzed the nine BMC blocks—value propositions, customer segments, channels, customer relationships, key resources, key activities, key partnerships, revenue streams, and cost structure—to map current operations and diagnose gaps.
Through guided exercises, producers visualized opportunities to improve product positioning, market access, and partnerships while outlining revenue strategies and cost controls for sustainability.
DTI–Guimaras and DA–BFAR Region 6 said the collaboration underscores a shared commitment to empower local producers, enhance enterprise competitiveness, and foster inclusive economic growth in the province.
