A 39-year-old man surrendered to police after allegedly shooting his drunk friend on the evening of May 20 in Passi City, Iloilo.
The incident occurred at the suspect’s home during the fiesta celebration in Barangay Aglalana, Passi City.
Reports said Louie was drinking with friends when the victim, identified only as Alfredo, arrived.
Alfredo reportedly became unruly and even broke a shot glass during the gathering.
Louie allegedly retrieved a 12-gauge shotgun and fired at Alfredo.
Responders from the Bureau of Fire Protection–Passi City found the victim unresponsive upon arrival.
Alfredo was rushed to Don Valerio Palmares Sr. Memorial District Hospital in Passi City, where he was declared dead on arrival.
Police said initial investigation suggests alcohol-induced behavior may have triggered the shooting, as the suspect and victim had no prior conflict.
