ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A former drug surrenderer arrested during a police raid early Thursday morning, April 24, in Barangay Manayupit, Maayon, Capiz, strongly denied owning the two firearms and illegal drugs recovered from him.
Jonefer Diller Dumalo, 41, alias Tilog, claimed that the items were planted by the operatives during the operation.
The raid was conducted jointly by the Maayon Municipal Police Station, the 1st Capiz Provincial Mobile Force Company, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Capiz.
It was carried out under the authority of Search Warrant No. 19-2025 for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and Search Warrant No. 20-2025 for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
The warrants were issued by Judge Lorenzito B. Diaz of the Regional Trial Court, Sixth Judicial Region, Branch 17, in Roxas City on April 22, 2025.
Recovered from Dumalo’s possession were a .38-caliber revolver loaded with one live round, a homemade 12-gauge shotgun, and 12 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 10 grams with an estimated street value of PHP6,800.
Police said Dumalo tested positive for drug use during a drug test.
He is currently under the custody of the Maayon Municipal Police Station.
Appropriate charges were filed against him last Friday before the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office.
