One of the most anticipated Mayor Jerry P. Treñas Dinagyang Basketball Cup matchups unfolded last December 27, 2019 where the boys in blue took down the red armada.
The DPWH squad overcame a tough battle with the Uniwheels Cars Display, 83-76, in their second straight win of the tournament.
Pusoy Arenal came in waxing hot for Uniwheels, shooting unconsciously as he torched the DPWH defense with his shooting efficiency.
Despite getting a hand in his face, Arenal managed to bury most of his tough shots and that ignited his team to attack DPWH early on, with an aggressive King Belostrino and Mark Ceniza operating down low.
However, whenever Uniwheels made a run, veteran big man Jhepoy Balleza of DPWH came in and answered in the post, executing plays together with John Samones.
During the third, both teams started to trade firepower and executed their offensive sets as Mar Ceniza of Uniwheels and Balleza of DPWH banged and traded post scores.
The game went tightly-close until the final frame when DPWH’s JR Dulce took matters into his own hands and started to drain clutch threes that created a much-needed cushion for his team.
