THE Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE-6) has recognized Bacolod Citys Public Employment and Service Office (PESO) as Best PESO Employment Information System (PEIS) Implementor among cities in Western Visayas.
According to PESO Bacolod officer-in-charge Ma. Rebecca Balicas, the award honors the city or municipality that has the highest number of registrants in the PEIS.
The PEIS, which is under the DOLEs National Skills Registry Program, records the profiles, qualifications, and skills of all applicants and employers registered, making it easier to determine the percentage of the employed, unemployed and underemployed.
Balicas mentioned that the increased number of PEIS registrants recorded in PESO Bacolod office was attributed to the intensified campaign down to the barangay level.
Applicants who can register with the PEIS are those aged 15 to 60 years old.
It can be recalled that PESO Bacolod was also recognized in 2017 by the DOLE for garnering the highest increase of registered job seekers in the PEIS. (PIA)
