Djokovic completes comeback against Thiem to notch Australian Open title

Novak Djokovic mounted a fierce rally late to come back from a 1-2 set deficit against Austrian Dominic Thiem to clinch the 2020 Australian Open title, 4-6, 6-4, 6-2, 3-6, 4-6.

The action-packed five-set thriller left everyone at Melbourne Park sweating and nervous as they eagerly watched the two stars battle.

Djokovic’s corner was all in disbelief, bowing their heads down hoping that the Serbian star could mount a comeback after being down a set.

All of a sudden, Djokovic came alive.

Breaking Thiem’s service twice, the Serbian finally got the momentum and the stops he needed to equalize the match at 2 sets all.

The final set featured 20-shot rallies which Djokovic won the majority of, pushing the young Austrian to his limits after breaking him again in his service.

Djokovic’s consistent service game also gave him the edge in the last two sets, holding all his services to clinch every set.

The win gave Djokovic his 17^th Grand Slam title, only three titles away from tying the great Roger Federer.
