ROXAS CITY, Capiz – The number of dengue-related deaths in Capiz has climbed to four, with total cases reaching 753 from January to June 21, 2025.
Data from the Capiz Provincial Health Office (CPHO) showed that the latest fatality was from Roxas City.
The other three deaths were reported in Dumalag (two cases) and Jamindan (one case).
Dengue is transmitted to humans through the bite of infected female mosquitoes, primarily the Aedes aegypti species.
Other Aedes species may also transmit the virus, though their role is typically secondary.
Health officials urged the public to keep their surroundings clean to prevent mosquito breeding.
