Demarcus Cousins tears ACL

After rupturing his left Achilles tendon a year ago, Demarcus Cousins was sidelined for almost 9 months and underwent intense rehab during the healing process.

After being cleared to play, Cousins suited up for the Golden State Warriors but unfortunately lost to the Toronto Raptors in the NBA finals.

A month after moving from the Warriors to the Los Angeles Lakers, fans and analysts were hyped with the reunion of Cousins and Anthony Davis, and the possibility of a run for the championship with Lebron James.

But expectations went from 100 to 0 quickly during an offseason workout in Las Vegas as Cousins banged knees, resulting in a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee.

With the serious injury, the Lakers’ rotation would be disrupted as Cousins was billed to play a vital role in the system under head coach Frank Vogel.

This is Cousins’ third serious injury since he was drafted in the summer of 2010 by the Sacramento Kings.

Players and coaches showed their support to Cousins via their social media posts including the Lakers organization.
