State-owned Development Bank of the Philippines has extended a PHP 815 million term loan to Bright Homes & Realty Corporation for the construction of three residential buildings in Sta. Maria, Bulacan.
DBP President and Chief Executive Officer Michael O. de Jesus said the financing is part of the bank’s Credit Facility for the 4PH Program (BAHAY-4PH), aimed at supporting the Marcos administration’s flagship housing initiative, Bagong Pilipinas – Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino.
“DBP’s funding support is consistent with its thrust of promoting social services and community development, as well as to realize the vision of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. of providing decent and affordable housing for our countrymen, especially those with limited financial resources,” de Jesus said.
The 4PH Program targets the development of sustainable housing communities across the Philippines, focusing on low- and middle-income families.
De Jesus said the BAHAY-4PH facility provides financing to local government units, housing developers and contractors engaged in 4PH projects.
The three buildings funded under the loan are expected to benefit around 900 individuals from low- to middle-income households in Bulacan.
DBP, the country’s 10th largest bank by assets, provides credit support to four priority sectors of the economy—infrastructure and logistics; micro, small and medium enterprises; the environment; and social services and community development.
Bright Homes & Realty Corporation is a 30-year-old developer specializing in affordable mass housing projects.
De Jesus said DBP remains committed to the government’s goal of building 1 million housing units annually through 2028 by addressing gaps in housing finance.
“DBP will be more aggressive in seeking partners for the BAHAY-4PH program, especially private developers and LGUs, and help expedite the creation of more sustainable and inclusive communities across the country,” he said.
He added that the bank aims to release PHP 50 billion in loans under the BAHAY-4PH program by the end of 2030.
