CSB’s Davis & Pasturan file complaint against JRU’s Amores

College of Saint Benilde’s (CSB) Taine Davis and Jimboy Pasturan reportedly filed a complaint against Jose Rizal University (JRU) player John Amores as a result of his on-court rampage during their NCAA matchup last Tuesday.

Davis and Pasturan were Amores’ casualties after getting floored by his wild punches which led to his indefinite suspension from the NCAA.

The CSB players were accompanied by their head coach Charles Tiu to the San Juan City Prosecutor’s Office on November 11, 2022.

Davis and Pasturan filed physical injury complaints after receiving solid punches from Amores who charged straight into their bench when the game was stopped at the 3:25 mark of the final canto.

Amores felt he got tripped during the last play and exploded in anger when he came after CSB’s Mark Sangco whom he had an altercation with in the previous play.

Meanwhile, Pasturan and Davis were the unfortunate targets that got floored after Amores’ wild punches. Both players got knocked down to the floor and took several minutes to recover.

“I’m just thankful that no one else got hurt. As disappointing as it is, we asked the team to learn to forgive. We still must make the actions that need to be done,” said Tiu during his interview with GMA Sports’ Bea Micaller.

This is already Amores’ third physical injury complaint. The first came from University of the Philippines’ Mark Gil Belmonte which was filed in Quezon City.

Amores went viral four months ago when he punched Belmonte during a preseason game of the 2022 UCBL basketball tournament.

The UP commit suffered a gum fracture, teeth dislocation, and mouth lacerations caused by Amores which forced the university to file a complaint.

However, as of now, the first case filed by Belmonte and the Fighting Maroons is still pending and no final decisions were revealed.
