The Creamline Cool Smashers flexed their muscles on the Galeries Tower Highrisers after pulling off a lopsided sweeping win, 25-9, 25-11, 25-15, in the ongoing Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference on Oct. 18, 2025, at the Capital Arena in Isabela.
Fresh off a decisive victory over the Petro Gazz Angels, the Cool Smashers successfully returned to their old winning ways, notching back-to-back wins after a heartbreaking five-set loss at the hands of the Akari Chargers during their first game in the import-laced conference.
It was all Creamline from the get-go as their offensive artillery just proved to be too much for the struggling Galeries, who are yet to pick up a single win in three games played.
American import Courtney Schwann spearheaded the early Creamline rally, capitalizing on several of Galeries’ middle-blocking defensive miscues.
Schwann flaunted her deep offensive bag as she schooled Galeries with a mix of off-speed crafty hits and power spikes from the backline that kept the opposing team’s defense guessing for three straight sets.
In just a jiffy, the Cool Smashers dispatched the Highrisers, barely breaking a sweat, limiting them to just nine points in the opener to steal the much-needed momentum heading into the final two sets.
Despite any defensive adjustments made by Galeries at the start of the second set, the Cool Smashers’ relentless attack and consistent middle-blocking prevented them from gaining any ground in the match.
Picking up where Schwann left off was Alyssa Valdez, who made a personal scoring run midway through the second that separated the Cool Smashers by a huge gap.
Creamline sent the final blow in the third, overwhelming Galeries with a balanced attack en route to another PVL loss.
Schwann top-scored the Cool Smashers with a game-high 14-point production built from 12 successful attacks alongside six excellent digs, while Valdez added 10 markers and five excellent receptions.
With the win, Creamline improved their win-loss record to 2-1 and stayed in the Top 3 of Pool B, while Galeries succumbed to their third consecutive defeat, joining the Chery Tiggo Crossovers, NXLED Chameleons, and the Cignal HD Spikers as the only teams who are yet to pick up a dub in the Reinforced Conference.
