Couple killed in road mishap involving truck

BACOLOD City – A couple died after their motorcycle was hit by a pick-up truck driven by a 22-year-old college student along the highway of Purok Masinadyahon, Barangay Lag-asan, Bago City, Negros Occidental last Thursday.
Police identified the victims as Benjie Siasico, 47, and wife Mary Joy, both residents of Barangay Pacol.
Based on the investigation, the pick-up truck was tailing a motorcycle driven by Siasico, who was traversing towards Barangay Ma-ao, when it hit the rear part of the motorcycle.
The motorcycle swerved until it fell to the roadside.
The college student allegedly failed to notice the motorcycle.
The couple suffered severe injuries and were declared dead in a hospital, while the student-driver surrendered and was placed under police custody.
