BACOLOD CITY — A couple was arrested Tuesday in a drug bust that yielded 85 grams of suspected shabu valued at PHP 578,000 in Purok Narra Baybay, Barangay 8, this city.
The suspects were identified as “Jerv,” 38, of Barangay 8, and “Tine,” 20, of Barangay 6.
Police tagged Jerv as a high-value individual and Tine as a street-level individual.
The Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) said the operation stemmed from reports that the couple, who are live-in partners, were allegedly engaged in the sale of illegal drugs in the area.
PRO-NIR emphasized that illegal drugs continue to pose a serious threat to public safety, health, and community well-being.
“The campaign against illegal drugs will not waver nor relent,” the PRO-NIR said.
The agency added that it remains committed to eradicating criminality and ensuring drug-free communities.
