A policeman was injured after being electrocuted while fixing a light fixture at their home in Tigbauan, Iloilo, late afternoon of May 1.
Staff Sergeant Mike Gayaden, 36, an investigator at the Tigbauan Municipal Police Station and a resident of Barangay Binaliuan Mayor, sustained minor burn injuries to his left hand.
Tigbauan police chief Capt. Alfred Mansoy said Gayaden was discharged from the hospital after initial treatment.
However, he was advised to undergo an MRI and CT scan to rule out possible internal injuries from the fall.
Reports stated that Gayaden was repairing a light at the back portion of the house’s second floor when he accidentally touched a live wire.
He was electrocuted and thrown from a height of 16 feet, landing on the ground.
He sustained head and body injuries and was brought to Rep. Pedro G. Trono Memorial Hospital in Guimbal for medical attention.
