A construction worker died after being electrocuted on the morning of July 24 in Miag-ao, Iloilo.
Martin Magbanua, 40, a resident of Barangay Centro, Dao, Capiz, was working on the construction of Miagao National High School at Bliss Project in Barangay Kirayan Tacas, Miag-ao.
Captain Francis Donne Lomahan, Miag-ao police chief, said the victim was attaching and installing the ceiling on the school building’s fourth floor when the incident occurred. He was with three other co-workers at the time.
The steel scaffolding reportedly stepped on an extension wire, which got broken. The exposed wire caused an electric current to pass through the scaffolding, electrocuting the victim.
Magbanua was rushed to Miagao Rural Health Unit’s emergency clinic but was declared dead on arrival.
