Are you all ready for Conor McGregor’s Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) comeback?
On March 4, 2026, one of the fighting promotion’s game changers revealed that his camp and the UFC are currently in talks about his mixed martial arts (MMA) return, either in the upcoming White House event or on a specific card sometime this summer.
“I am in negotiations with the Ultimate Fighting Championship about the bout, either the White House or thereabouts,” McGregor said.
McGregor last fought in the UFC in 2021, when he lost to Dustin Poirier after injuring his leg, forcing the referee to call an official stoppage.
Fans got hyped when McGregor agreed to fight Michael Chandler in 2024, but a broken pinky toe he sustained during training camp forced White to cancel the bout.
Since midseason 2024, McGregor showed no intention of fighting again in the UFC, but the 2026 fight calendar is a different story.
If McGregor is lined up on the White House card, he could be in store for a major payday, as the event is part of preparations for the 250th anniversary of the United States.
The Irish superstar has long been UFC President Dana White’s cash cow. In every McGregor main event from 2015 to 2023, the MMA executive declared sold-out stadiums, both in the US and overseas.
White already hinted at McGregor’s UFC return in September 2025, during an episode of the IMPAULSIVE podcast uploaded on YouTube.
“So, Conor says he’s coming back,” White said.
“Conor is a guy that has fought injured. Conor was a guy that, a fighter falls out, we slid in a stylistically bad matchup for him. He doesn’t care. He literally will fight anybody.”
McGregor is no stranger to huge UFC events after becoming the first fighter in the history of the MMA promotion to hold two belts in two separate divisions.
He will forever be remembered for recording the fastest knockout in a title bout (13 seconds) against the great Jose Aldo in 2015.
