Coconut, and mango, which shared about three-quarters of the total other crops yield, consistently drove up total production for three comparative years (2020–2022), based on data released by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
The combined production of coconut and mango reached 51,286.26 metric tons (MT) in 2020, 11.34 percent more than the 2021 yield with 57,104.51MT. The growth continued in 2022 at 4.58 percent or 59,721.96MT.
“The data also revealed that coconut and mango got a large share of 71.91% in 2020, 71.55% in 2021, and 72.45% in 2022 in the total yield of other crops,” Provincial Statistics Officer Nelida B. Losare said.
Losare also cited that the total production of other crops in 2020 reached 71,314.17MT, a 11.91 percent increase against 2021 with 79,809.18MT yield. The year 2022 also posted a 3.27 percent growth with 82,418.05 MT.
Other crops that constantly ranked in the top 20 from the years 2020 to 2022 in the Province of Guimaras (aside from the coconut and mango) were calamansi, sweet potato/camote, jackfruit young, cassava, cashew, string beans, squash fruit, malunggay leaves, eggplant, alogbati, jackfruit (ripe), ampalaya fruit, rice hay, and green papaya.
“Swamp Cabbage/Kangkong, and Coconut Sap/Tuba, only appeared in the top 20 in the year 2020 and were outranked by the Papaya (ripe variety) and Taro Gabi in 2021 and 2022”, Losare said

Losare added that the bottom five other crops with the least harvests in were unstable for three consecutive years.
Only Breadfruit and Durian were consistently among the bottom 5 in 2020-2021.
The Florida Beauty, Cactus, and Palong Manok were outplaced by Serial/Sarale, Karamay, and Grapes in 2021 and 2022.
