It’s only a couple of months after arriving in the US to train and seek opportunities but the former Far Eastern University (FEU) swingman Cholo Anonuevo is already on cloud nine.
After deciding to go to the US and train with The Skills Factory (TSF) in Atlanta, the same basketball camp that honed the NBA G-League bound Kai Sotto, Anonuevo got a call from Tennessee State University (TSU) coach Penny Collins.
Coach Collins wasted no time and immediately told the 6’4’’ wonder-kid that “we are offering you an athletic scholarship to Tennessee State University,” the head coach said in the video meeting via zoom with Anonuevo.
Tennessee State is a Division I school that competes in the Ohio Valley Conference and the team looks to add more length to its roster, leading to their pursuit of Anonuevo.
As of now, Anonuevo hasn’t made up his mind and is still weighing his options.
Anonuevo and Sotto continue to train with the TSF and will be active in the pocket tournaments the TSF will join.
Upon arriving in Atlanta, Anonuevo is entirely focused on his grind to get better and is also observing individual private session runs to get him in shape and prepared for the coming tournaments.
