Choco Mucho gets back on track in win over Galeries
By Leobert Julian A. de la Peña

The Choco Mucho Flying Titans re-entered the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference Siklab Series win column after turning back the Galeries Tower Highrisers, 21-25, 25-17, 25-19, 25-15, on Oct. 27, 2026, at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
Eager to bounce back following a disappointing five-set loss to the Farm Fresh Foxies, the Flying Titans banked on a balanced offensive attack to fend off Galeries’ quick start in the first set.
A series of unforced errors handed Galeries the momentum midway through the first set, led by the one-two punch of Aiza Maizo-Pontillas and Jean Asis.
Pontillas delivered a crucial drop shot to help Galeries pull away, followed by Roselle Baliton’s decisive block on Sisi Rondina-Rosales that sealed the first set and immediately put pressure on Choco Mucho.
Locked in after an intense timeout heading into the second set, the Flying Titans opened the frame with more decisive attacks, sparked by Eya Laure’s backline efficiency.
Choco Mucho also doubled down on its floor coverage as veteran libero Dawn Macandili-Catindig anchored the team’s defense and limited Galeries’ easy looks.
After equalizing the affair, Choco Mucho then smelled blood, outplaying the struggling Galeries in the final two sets. For the fourth straight game, the Highrisers failed to close out the crucial frames strongly and conceded a lot of backrow attacks due to a series of defensive miscommunications.
The Flying Titans dropped the early hammer midway through the fourth and final set as Lorene Toring fueled a 7-0 run with her blocking and quick attacks to help Choco Mucho build a commanding 18-9 advantage.
Following Laure’s off-the-block spike and Viray’s leftie bomb, the Highrisers’ hopes for a miraculous comeback slowly faded as Choco Mucho moved to within a point of victory while holding a 10-point cushion.
Laure spearheaded Choco Mucho’s rebound performance with an all-around effort of 18 points, 11 excellent receptions, and nine excellent digs.
The duo of Rondina-Rosales and Viray chipped in 11 points apiece, while Macandili-Catindig added 20 excellent digs and 11 excellent receptions.
Both teams will return to action on Nov. 3, with Choco Mucho aiming to bag its second straight win against the Nxled Chameleons and Galeries hoping to end its slump against the Akari Chargers.
