Cebu Pacific boosts fleet with new aircraft, emphasizes sustainability

Cebu Pacific (PSE: CEB), the leading carrier in the Philippines, marked a significant milestone with the arrival of its fifth aircraft delivery for 2024.

The new addition, an A320neo, landed at Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila on May 21, reinforcing the airline’s dedication to operational resiliency and environmental sustainability.

The A320neo, renowned for its fuel efficiency, represents a pivotal step in Cebu Pacific’s strategy to reduce its carbon footprint.

“Adding another NEO aircraft to our growing fleet supports our goal of reducing our carbon footprint. We’re proud to take a more proactive approach in minimizing our environmental impact, all the while addressing the ongoing demand for air travel,” said Alex Reyes, CEB Chief Strategy Officer.

Cebu Pacific boasts one of the youngest and most diversified fleets globally, comprising eight Airbus 330s, 39 Airbus 320s, 21 Airbus 321s, and 14 ATR turboprop aircraft. This extensive fleet allows the airline to maintain the widest network coverage in the Philippines.

The Airbus NEO series, which includes the latest-generation aircraft, burns 15 percent less fuel per flight compared to its predecessors. This efficiency translates directly into a significant reduction in carbon emissions, aligning with Cebu Pacific’s sustainability goals.

Cebu Pacific continues to serve a vast network, flying to 35 domestic and 24 international destinations across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East.

As the airline expands its fleet and enhances its operational capabilities, it remains committed to meeting the growing demand for air travel while prioritizing environmental stewardship.
