Tennis players from the first district, specifically the municipality of Tigbauan, earned respective wins and convincingly impressed the crowd in La Paz tennis courts.
Both primary and secondary, these athletes shone the most in the two-day duration of the lawn tennis event in the 2019 Iloilo Schools Sports Council (ISSC) Meet.
Ujz Bautista outlasted his opponent from the fourth district, 8-3, in the men’s singles secondary event and was unfazed despite playing in the singles category again in the ISSC level.
In the women’s singles secondary event, Ketheley Torrefranca dismantled her opponent, not dropping a single set to her, 8-0.
The same with Bautista’s category, Sean Villan played good tennis and wrecked his opponent from the 3rd district, 8-3.
Meanwhile, in the men’s doubles secondary event, Ivan Acedera and Carlo Tolosa ripped the Iloilo City Schools duo, 8-1.
In the women’s doubles secondary event, the duo of Colleen Gicana and Ivy Lou Emolaga obliterated their opponents, 8-0.
