CDEU seizes PHP 578,000 worth of shabu in Bacolod

BACOLOD CITY — Operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) arrested a 20-year-old man in a drug bust that resulted in the seizure of 85 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP 578,000 in Purok Arao, Barangay Vista Alegre on Monday.

Police Lt. Richard Legada, CDEU officer-in-charge, said the suspect, identified as “Nok,” had allegedly been involved in illegal drug activities for the past three years, reportedly earning PHP 500 for every five grams sold due to its high street value.

Legada added that the suspect was known as a source of illegal drugs among previously arrested pushers and users in areas under the jurisdiction of Police Stations 5 and 7.

He said the suspect was considered a high-value individual but was not listed on the barangay drug watchlist. It was also his first apprehension for a drug offense.

The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) reiterated its commitment to sustaining intensified anti-illegal drug operations in support of a safer, drug-free community.

Meanwhile, a 30-year-old man was also apprehended in a separate drug bust in Barangay Suba, Calatrava, Negros Occidental, on Jan. 29.

Police seized 40 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP 272,000 from the suspect, identified as “Gene,” a resident of Barangay Lo-ok.
