According to the CPPO’s weekly accomplishment report, four of the nine wanted persons were arrested in four operations for alleged violations of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Police confiscated about 18 grams of suspected illegal drugs with an estimated standard drug price of PHP 122,400.
Republic Act No. 9165 establishes the country’s legal framework for prohibited drugs, controlled substances, enforcement, treatment, and prevention.
Four other wanted persons were arrested for alleged violations of Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
Police recovered six unlicensed firearms from the suspects, while six other firearms were voluntarily surrendered to authorities.
Republic Act No. 10591 regulates the ownership, possession, carrying, manufacture, sale, and importation of firearms and ammunition in the Philippines.
The report did not specify the case involving the ninth wanted person.

According to police, the former members said they decided to return to the fold of the law because what they had been fighting for was useless and misleading.
In separate operations, police arrested 16 people for alleged involvement in illegal fishing activities.
The six operations resulted in the confiscation of fishing boats and equipment valued at PHP 1.695 million.
