Capiz logs 96 new COVID-19 cases

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – The province of Capiz recorded 96 new cases of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) on Jan 22, 2022.
The latest number pushed the total active cases in the province to 859.
Data from the Provincial Health Office (PHO) indicated that 96.50 percent of the cases are mild and asymptomatic while 3.36 percent are moderate, severe to critical condition.
Capiz now has 10,784 confirmed cases since the pandemic hit the province, with 9,460 recoveries and 465 deaths.
Barangay Tiza has the most number of COVID-19 cases in Roxas City.
Punong barangay Alfredo “Minong” Albaladejo said the affected residents were asymptomatic and mild symptomatic.
Albaladejo said that one of the factors for the spike in the cases is that most of their residents are transients while others are medical frontliners.
