Capiz logs 14 cases of firecracker injuries

ROXAS CITY, Capiz– The province of Capiz recorded 14 firecracker related injuries based on the monitoring and surveillance of the Department of Health (DOH)-Capiz.
Joeffrey Espiritu, DOH-Capiz spokesperson, said 3 cases are in Pontevedra; 2 each in Jamindan, Dumarao, Panay, and Sapian; and 1 each in Ivisan, President Roxas, and Sigma.
Two were injured by boga, kwitis and whistle bomb; others were by bilong-bilong, triangle, sparklers and super baskog; while four used unidentified firecrackers.
Espiritu said that it is fortunate that no one had been killed or severely injured.
He said that this year’s firecracker-related incidents were lower by one against 15 last year.
