PBA fans have been asking if Calvin Abueva was joining the Clark bubble, they now have an answer.
Rumor has it that The Beast will be allowed to play after completing one needed requirement while others say that he can only join team scrimmages in Clark.
What’s the truth? Can Abueva play? What’s that one needed requirement that he will have to meet before getting deployed on the hardwood in Clark?
After Phoenix Super LPG head coach Topex Robinson posted a photo of him with Abueva heading to Clark, everybody went wild and surprised.
It has been 15 months since the PBA and its fans did not see Abueva play due to his indefinite suspension issued by the league.
Through the course of Abueva’s suspension, the PBA handed him several requirements in order to get back to play and he has completed all of it including his series of psychological evaluations.
However, questions still surrounded Abueva’s availability to play in Clark after Games and Amusement Board chief Abraham Mitra revealed Abueva has one final requirement to fulfill.
“He will undergo a seminar on Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards of a Professional Athletes once the GAB Board decides to give back his license,” said Mitra.
With GAB not issuing a definite timeline of when Abueva will be able to comply with his final requirement, The Beast was already given the go signal to participate in practice sessions and scrimmages in Clark.
