Commercial banks tapping the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ emergency peso credit line will face interest rates of up to 6.2660% starting June 9, 2026.
In a press release dated June 8, 2026, the BSP said Discount Window Facility peso availments will carry a rate of 5.8830% for loans with maturities of 1–90 days.
Loans with maturities of 91–180 days will be charged 6.2660%.
The Discount Window Facility allows eligible banks to borrow from the central bank to meet short-term liquidity needs, making its pricing an important signal for funding costs in the financial system.
The BSP said the rates are based on its Overnight Lending rate, with an appropriate spread determined by the central bank.
That spread may change periodically to complement shifts in the BSP’s monetary policy goals and reflect movements in market interest rates.
The adjustment aligns the facility with prevailing market conditions while giving banks a formal peso liquidity backstop during periods of temporary funding pressure.
