The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) honored 10 outstanding institutional partners of its Visayas Regional Office (VRO) during the 2025 Outstanding BSP Stakeholders Appreciation Ceremony (OBSAC) held on September 23 in Iloilo City.
Monetary Board Member Benjamin E. Diokno, who led the ceremony, said the awardees’ work “strengthens communities, builds trust, and lays the foundation for a more inclusive and resilient economy.”
BSP Deputy Governor Bernadette Romulo-Puyat added that the central bank’s policies are realized through the on-the-ground efforts of its partners, whose impact is reflected “in the everyday stories of Filipinos.”
The OBSAC, launched in 2004, serves as the BSP’s official platform to recognize partners who contribute to its mandates of price stability, financial stability, and efficient payment systems.
Awardees were recognized for their efforts in promoting the BSP’s core advocacies, including financial inclusion, financial education, digital payments, gold buying, and currency management.
The 10 awardees included Card Bank, Inc. – Roxas Branch; Land Bank of the Philippines – Dumaguete Branch, Tacloban Branch, and Iloilo Cash Operations Unit; and Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company – Cebu Fuente Osmeña Center and Roxas Branch.
Also recognized were the Local Government of Talisay City in Negros Occidental, Cebu Bankers Club, Tacloban Bankers Association, Inc., and Perpetual Help Community Cooperative.
The VRO event followed similar OBSAC ceremonies held earlier this year for BSP partners in the Head Office, South Luzon, Mindanao, and North Luzon on July 18, August 8, September 8, and October 7, respectively.
