BPO firm draws over 2,000 members for Pride events nationwide

Teleperformance (TP) Philippines, a global leader in digital business services, celebrated Pride Month 2024 with over 2,000 employees joining Pride Marches across the country. Partnering with local governments in Quezon City, Bacolod City, Cebu City, and Davao City, TP demonstrated its commitment to gender equality and LGBTQIA+ workplace inclusion.

“I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: our support for the LGBTQIA+ community goes beyond Pride Month,” said TP Philippines Chief Executive Officer Rahul Jolly. “Teleperformance Philippines is and will always be a safe space for our colleagues to express their most authentic selves. Joining the Pride March areas across the country is just one of our many ways of expressing our support to the community.”

Ahead of the Pride March, TP Philippines served as a Platinum Sponsor for the Philippine Financial & Inter-Industry Pride’s (PFIP) 2nd Visayas LGBTQ+ Workplace Inclusion Conference in Cebu City. The conference, themed “Padayon: Nurturing LGBTQ+ Workplace Inclusion in Visayas,” equipped participants with tools and strategies for fostering diverse and inclusive workplaces.

PFIP’s annual conference strategically aligns with TP Philippines’ ongoing efforts to sustain a diverse, safe, and inclusive workplace where everybody is seen and supported regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity,” said TP Women Chair & TP Philippines Executive Vice President for Client Operations Toni Tompar.

Chief People Officer Jeffrey Johnson emphasized the broader impact of their initiatives: “Our team at TP believes that an employee-focused workplace drives success for the company. Beyond our DE&I projects in Metro Manila, we are also working with organizations and communities in the Visayas and Mindanao to increase our reach and the extent of our impact.”

Throughout the year, TP’s DE&I programs, such as the TP Pride Town Hall and Virtual Kwentuhan “Queertuhan” sessions, provide platforms for open discussions on issues affecting the LGBTQIA+ community and its allies.

Teleperformance Philippines recently partnered with De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde to host interns from the School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies (SDEAS), several of whom are members of the LGBTQIA+ community. These interns proudly participated in the Pride March.

Vee Jahnsen Agalep, one of the Deaf interns, expressed excitement about the event: “This is my first time joining the Pride March. I will be participating to support the LGBTQIA+ community and to express my identity. I feel supported.” Archie Drillon, another Deaf intern, highlighted the importance of community inclusion: “It’s a great experience for me to be included in the community, especially with TP.”

Mark David, a trainer from TP Alphaland Southgate site and first-time participant, shared his thoughts on the company’s support: “Teleperformance inspired me to join this event because our values align with the spirit of the Pride March. It’s meaningful to see my company supporting who we are and what we stand for.”
