Despite his efficient production with the Blackwater Elite, Brian Heruela was sent to the trading block in exchange for Ron Dennison of the Phoenix Fuel Masters.
Seeking for a career revamp with the Elite after being traded by powerhouse team San Miguel Beermen, Heruela finds himself on his third team in just a year.
Known for his tenacity on defense, Heruela was often tasked to defend the opposing team’s main weapon in the backcourt like Jayson Castro and Alex Cabagnot.
However, the veteran guard was traded for Dennison, a long and pesky forward from the Fuel Masters who’s also a defensive-minded player like Heruela.
League sources confirmed that a third team was initially involved in the trade talks but eventually backed out.
