The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) under Commissioner Romeo D. Lumagui Jr. unveiled the Ease of Paying Taxes (EOPT) Roadshow at the PICC Reception Hall on April 29, 2024.
The initiative is part of the BIR’s mission to educate taxpayers across the Philippines about the reformed taxation system under the EOPT law.
The EOPT Roadshow also emphasized the BIR’s vision of an Excellent Taxpayer Service and establishing an inclusive approach to tax education.
“Taxation is for everyone. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment with taxpayers. The BIR will reach out and inform them of tax obligations while welcoming their input on enhancing our tax administration,” Lumagui said.
The roadshow intends to clarify the latest EOPT updates on critical aspects such as classification, Value-Added Tax, registration and invoicing, refunds, income and withholding tax, penalties, and publication.
After the Metro Manila event, the BIR plans to extend these educational roadshows to provincial areas, with details forthcoming.
