BIR, German Embassy discuss audit reforms, DX project

Bureau of Internal Revenue Commissioner Charlito Martin R. Mendoza met April 7, 2026, with Ambassador Dr. Andreas Michael Pfaffernoschke of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Manila and Marian Majer of the German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. for talks on ongoing tax administration reforms and areas for cooperation.

The discussions focused on key audit reform measures and updates on the BIR’s Digital Transformation, or DX, Project.

The engagement reflects the BIR’s continuing efforts under the Service Excellence and Stakeholder Engagement pillar of its DARES program to strengthen dialogue with international and private-sector partners.

The initiative is intended to support audit reform, transparency and digital transformation efforts aimed at improving taxpayer service and tax administration.

Also present at the meeting were Deputy Commissioner Larry M. Barcelo, Deputy Commissioner Vener S. Baquiran, Officer in Charge-Regional Director Antonino Ilagan of Revenue Region No. 8A, and Revenue District Officer Abdullah Bandrang of Revenue District Office No. 50.
