Bingawan’s Most Wanted Man Nabbed for Rape Charges

The most wanted person in Bingawan, Iloilo was arrested after evading authorities for more than two years.

Alias Tim, 25, was apprehended at his home in Barangay Inamyungan, Bingawan at around 8:30 a.m. on June 3.

The arrest was carried out by the Bingawan Municipal Police Station, led by Lt. Philip Girao.

The suspect faces three counts of rape by carnal knowledge under Article 266-A, Paragraph 1 of the Revised Penal Code, as amended by Republic Act 8353.

An arrest warrant was issued by the Assisting Judge of the 6th Regional Trial Court Branch 76 in Janiuay, Iloilo on Feb. 18, 2022.

No bail was recommended for his provisional release.

The suspect is currently detained at the Bingawan Police Station and will be turned over to the court of jurisdiction.

Col. Roland Bulalacao, chief of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office, said the arrest marks a major step in the province’s crackdown on serious crimes.

“The IPPO remains steadfastly committed to bringing all wanted individuals to justice and securing it for victims and their families,” Bulalacao said.
