BACOLOD CITY — The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) reported a 47.6 percent increase in the value of illegal drugs seized in 2025, totaling PHP 157,346,255.04 compared with PHP 106,589,614.56 in 2024.
The total haul included 22,916.106 grams of shabu valued at PHP 155,829,522.84 and 12,639.435 grams of marijuana worth PHP 1,516,732.20 seized from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2025.
Police said the value of seized shabu increased by 46.2 percent, while marijuana seizures rose by 52.7 percent compared with the previous year.
Authorities conducted 597 anti-illegal drug operations that resulted in the arrest of 785 suspects, marking a 50.1 percent increase from 523 arrests in 2024.
Police filed 1,193 drug-related cases, led by the City Drug Enforcement Unit, which filed 264 cases against 175 suspects from 98 operations.
The City Drug Enforcement Unit recorded the largest seizure in 2025, amounting to PHP 104.5 million worth of illegal drugs.
Among the city’s 10 police stations, Police Station 8 logged the highest seizure at PHP 23.1 million, followed by Police Station 2 with PHP 20.4 million and Police Station 7 with PHP 2.3 million.
Other drug recoveries were recorded at Police Station 4 with PHP 1.8 million, Police Station 3 with PHP 1.1 million, Police Station 5 with PHP 635,553.52, Police Station 6 with PHP 558,751, Police Station 1 with PHP 361,746.40, Police Station 10 with PHP 339,292.80, and Police Station 9 with PHP 273,067.60.
The Bacolod City Mobile Force Company also seized illegal drugs valued at PHP 1.5 million.
Police Col. Joeresty Coronica, BCPO director, said the primary source of illegal drugs entering the city is likely from Luzon.
“It will pass somewhere in Panay or Cebu province,” Coronica said.
He commended police units and partner agencies for their continued efforts to eradicate illegal drugs in Bacolod City.
Coronica was assigned to the BCPO on July 23, 2024, and has been in the post for nearly 17 months.
The BCPO is the primary law enforcement agency in the highly urbanized city and continues to intensify its anti-drug campaign as part of the Philippine National Police’s nationwide efforts against illegal drugs.
