BCPO score anew in anti-drug war with P816,800 ‘shabu’ haul

BACOLOD City – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) continue to seize huge volumes of illegal drugs, following the recent recovery of P816,800 worth of suspected shabu weighing 120 grams in Barangay Singcang-Airport here last Tuesday.

Police identified the suspects as Bryle Ramos, 30, of Barangay 8 here; and Anthony Morcilla, 33, of Barangay Singcang-Airport.

Both are tagged as “high value individuals,” considering the big drug haul, according to the police.

Police Lieutenant Joeven Mogato, head of City Drugs Enforcement Unit (CDEU), said they launched the operation after they received reports about the suspects’ alleged illegal activity in the village.

“Daw sila gina kuha-an,” Mogato added.

Mogato said that Ramos rented a room at Morcilla’s house after he relocated to Barangay Vista Alegre here.

Mogato said Ramos was arrested for a drug offense in 2018.

Police also recovered from them the P1,500 marked money.

Mogato said they are probing the source of the contraband. He, however, noted that the eased restrictions in borders could be a factor in the big drug recovery recently.

Both suspects have yet to be reached for comment.

Meanwhile, the BCPO seized 472.308 grams of illegal drugs worth P3,211,694.40 in 50 police operations in November.

Based on BCPO records, 66 individuals, including three high value individuals, 63 street level individuals, and three minors were arrested.

A total of 79 cases were filed in court for violation of Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
