As part of its intensified anti-drug operations this holiday season, the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) continues to seize significant volumes of illegal drugs.
The most recent buy-bust operation led to the arrest of “Ram,” 51, who was allegedly caught with 100 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP 680,000 in Purok Cheriza 2, Barangay 27, on Tuesday.
Police classified the suspect as a high-value individual.
He is now facing charges for violating Section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs) and Section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) said operatives received information from a confidential informant about the suspect’s alleged illegal activity.
On the same day, police conducted casing and surveillance to validate the report until a buy-bust operation was carried out.
Recovered from the suspect were 15 sachets of suspected shabu, PHP 500 in marked money, and PHP 1,000.
He is detained at Police Station 4.
The operation is part of the regional office’s proactive and intelligence-driven policing approach aimed at disrupting drug networks.
PRO-NIR said it remains vigilant, determined, and resolute in ensuring that lawbreakers face swift accountability.
