Bacolod City received the award during the recognition ceremonies held at Diversion 21 in Mandurriao, Iloilo City on Dec. 1.
Dr. Anna Maria Laarni Pornan, Bacolod DRRMO head, presented the plaque and token to Mayor Evelio Leonardia on Monday saying that the city was among the 29 out of 133 LGUs or, only 21.8 percent of provinces, cities and municipalities in Region 6 that passed the mandatory assessment.
The assessment was based on four thematic areas of Disaster Risk Reduction and Management: Disaster Prevention and Mitigation; Disaster Preparedness; Disaster Response and Disaster Recovery/Rehabilitation.
Joining Pornan at the presentation were Executive Assistant to the City Mayor and Cluster Head of DRRMO Jose Maria B. Vargas, Administration and Training Section Chief Bernadeth B. Montelibano and City Councilor Dindo C. Ramos. (PIO)
