After a stellar Philippines Football League (PFL) stint with the Azkals Development Team, superstar Jarvey Gayoso will reportedly join a Thai-based football team.
Development Team head coach Scott Cooper confirmed the development after announcing that the versatile two-time UAAP MVP will be leaving the Philippines for Thailand soon.
Gayoso is scheduled to join Muangthong United, a four-time Thailand Division 1 football league champion.
Currently, Muangthong is facing some issues after finishing at a disappointing fifth place last year.
With Gayoso’s arrival, Muangthong United will be banking on the 23-year-old star after witnessing how he helped the Development Team during the PFL.
Gayoso’s leadership and talent helped the Azkals to a close contest between two of the best teams in the PFL, the United City FC and the Kaya FC-Iloilo where they managed to hold-down the teams to just 1 goal each.
“I think it’s a great step up for him to go to the Thai League. He’s being picked up as a midfielder, which was where he ended up in his stint at ADT. I think we finally found the right position for him. It’s really a good challenge for him because he has to step up a few levels,” said coach Cooper.
