The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd), has completed a new 3-story school building at the University of Antique–Tario Lim Memorial Campus (UA-TLMC) in Barangay Poblacion, Tibiao, Antique.
The PHP19.78-million facility was constructed by the DPWH Antique District Engineering Office under a contract with REVIM Construction.
It stands on a 780.8-square-meter lot within the school’s premises.
In a report to Regional Director Sanny Boy O. Oropel, Officer-in-Charge District Engineer Bernadeth Betsy B. Uy said the new building includes essential amenities aimed at enhancing the quality of education.
“This building, which will serve as the UA-TLMC College of Computer Studies, features three air-conditioned laboratory rooms—one on each floor—a multi-purpose hall, restrooms, and a roof deck, providing students and teachers with a conducive environment for a better learning experience,” Uy said.
She noted that well-designed and well-maintained school facilities have a positive impact on student achievement, attendance, and behavior.
The DPWH said the project is expected to benefit not only the university but also nearby communities by supporting quality education in the region.
