Anthony Edwards subtly disses LeBron James in new Adidas ad

Minnesota Timberwolves superstar Anthony Edwards threw apparent shade at LeBron James in his new Adidas advertisement posted on Sept. 18, 2026.

The ad, which quickly went viral after Adidas Basketball posted it across its social media platforms, featured Edwards on a late-night talk show set called “Minnatlantasota.”

Edwards didn’t wait long to roast James, poking fun at him by mocking his recent move from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Philadelphia 76ers.

“You see where big dog ended up?” Edwards said.

“He was going to join me in Minnesota, but I guess his knees couldn’t handle the cold weather. It’s cool though, we know why he really made that decision, Philly got some of the best barbers in the world.”

During the height of the James sweepstakes, the Timberwolves entered the bidding and were tagged as one of the most “sensible” destinations for the NBA icon.

Minnesota pitched its championship-ready core after signing LaMelo Ball to play alongside Edwards, but it could only offer a veteran minimum deal of USD 3.9 million (PHP 244.49 million).

However, James decided to return to the Eastern Conference and join the 76ers, where he is set to play with one of the most talented rosters, featuring Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, Jaylen Brown and VJ Edgecombe.

James agreed to a two-year, USD 8 million (PHP 501,518,660) deal with Philadelphia, the same salary that the Timberwolves offered.

Aside from James, Edwards also low-key jabbed Brown, who left the Celtics for Philadelphia after spending 10 seasons in Boston.

“Between him and ol’boy from Boston, they are going to have a whole lot of enhancements going on in the locker room. I’m just playing ya’ll, no put intended,” Edwards said.
