Andre Iguodala set to reinforce Golden State for 19th NBA season

After months of putting the Golden State Warriors through the grinder, veteran small forward Andre Iguodala finally confirmed that he is set for one more ride together with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green.

No specific details were presented to the media regarding his extension contract but the Golden State Warriors released the official letter of Iguodala’s commitment for his 19th NBA season.

Despite playing only under limited minutes the whole championship season, Steve Kerr and the rest of the Golden State coaching staff always made it known how valuable Iguodala is as their vocal leader on and off the court.

During the finals against the Boston Celtics, footage of Iguodala’s sideline coaching to Andrew Wiggins and the rest of the youngsters went viral on social media.

“Just makes my job so much easier because we have so many young guys and they need coaching, they need mentoring. Andre’s the best there is with that,” coach Kerr said.

Iguodala then explained that as he gets old, his role with the team also changed. It was different when he entered the franchise and was still this athletic freak of nature that used to dunk on people.

The NBA veteran already played a total of 444 career games with Golden State and has averaged 7.0 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.4 assists, in 26.7 minutes of playing time.

Above all the titles he won wearing the gold and white, Iguodala is also recognized as one of the 10 players in the NBA to win four championships and a Finals MVP.

Iguodala joined the elite company of his teammate Curry, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, LeBron James, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Shaquille O’ Neal, and Tony Parker.

“He’s planting his flag now, which I think for him is a healthy way for him to approach this year, knowing he’s giving everything he’s got,” Curry said.
