American nabbed for stabbing wife due to jealousy

BACOLOD CITY — A 47-year-old American national was charged with violence against women after allegedly stabbing his wife due to jealousy in Barangay 5, Sipalay City, Negros Occidental on Sunday.
According to the police, the husband arrived at their house drunk and angry, suddenly grabbed a knife, and attacked the victim.
The couple had a misunderstanding a few days ago, according to their neighbor.
A neighbor called for police assistance after the 37-year-old victim sought help because her husband had stabbed her.
When police arrived, the victim was found with stab wounds to her stomach and face and was taken to a hospital.
The suspect was then arrested.
The victim is now recuperating in a hospital.
No other details were released at the request of the family, police said.
