Everybody is already excited for one of the biggest matches in the history of the sweet science.
No Rain checks will be issued. This is really happening.
Canelo Alvarez going up against Terence Crawford. What better storyline can you ask for?
With only two days remaining before the blockbuster unification fight, both boxers appeared on stage for the final press conference on Sept. 12, 2025, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
When the majority expected a heated exchange between Alvarez and Crawford’s camp, the two professional pugs surprisingly shut down every spectator’s prediction when they embraced each other and showed their mutual respect.
In the final face-off, Alvarez approached Crawford, and the native of Omaha, Nebraska, shook his hand, while sharing a smirk before walking away.
A lot is at stake when both square off in the center of the ring, as Alvarez will be putting his World Boxing Association (WBA), World Boxing Council (WBC), and World Boxing Organization (WBO) super middleweight championship belts on the line.
Meanwhile, Crawford went two weight classes up to challenge Alvarez, aiming to establish a legacy as an undisputed champion in three different divisions of the four-belt era.
Before stepping inside the ring, Alvarez carried a momentum-boosting six-fight winning streak against Gennadiy Golovkin, John Ryder, Jermell Charlo, Jaime Munguia, Edgar Berlanga, and William Scull.
On the other hand, ring rust issues recently clouded Crawford and his camp after he had been out of the professional boxing ring for almost a year.
Since his clinical demolition of Errol Spence Jr., Crawford has only returned to the ring once, against Israil Madrimov.
“This fight for me is big. It’s one of the biggest fights in my career. For sure it means a lot, this win is going to be in the very top,” said Alvarez.
“Well, anybody can be a nobody. And for what everybody say, I haven’t fought anybody. So come Saturday we’re going to all see,” Crawford replied.
This is all for the marbles. Boxing analysts categorized this fight as huge as the Joe Frazier-Muhammad Ali bout, Arturo Gatti vs Micky Ward, and Marvin Hagler against Thomas Hearns.
Promoting the biggest super middleweight fight of the year is Turki Alalshikh, the chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority. Working side by side with the renowned promoter is Dana White, the CEO of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
