Carlos Alcaraz is still the man to beat in the ongoing ATP Finals tournament after protecting his perfect record following a sweep of Lorenzo Musetti, 6-4, 6-1, on Nov. 14, 2025, in Turin, Italy.
Fresh off a come-from-behind win over Taylor Fritz, Alcaraz made sure no sloppy starts would hinder his redemption campaign as he dominated the hometown bet from start to finish, schooling Musetti with a never-ending forehand down-the-line clinic.
Alcaraz kicked off his third group stage match with an aggressive baseline approach as he targeted Musetti’s wide side with his signature booming forehands.
The current world No. 1 ATP player surprisingly stayed away from the net, which was part of his low-risk, high-reward adjustment that he ignored in his first-set loss against Fritz.
During his second group stage encounter, Alcaraz attempted a series of risky net approaches in the opening set, which Fritz was able to counter.
However, when Alcaraz settled in and stopped the risky plays, the superstar from Spain easily cruised past Fritz to cap off the win with a reverse sweep.
This time, against Musetti, Alcaraz finished the match with a more careful game plan and piled up most of his damage from the baseline rally exchanges.
It was only midway through the second set that he engaged in net play, setting up overhand smashes off his slick backhand top-spin attacks.
Musetti threatened to score a break in the seventh game of the set, but Alcaraz held serve three consecutive times en route to a dominant 2-0 victory.
Alcaraz wrapped up the group stage win with 64 total points won, including three service break points and 25 on the return.
Meanwhile, Alcaraz’s rival, Jannik Sinner, is also off to a convincing start in Turin after taking down Felix Auger-Aliassime and Alexander Zverev, both in sweeping fashion.
