The Adamson University Soaring Falcons just fortified its frontcourt depth after finalizing the commitment of six-foot-eight Fil-Kiwi prospect Jireh Tumaneng confirmed last April 17, 2023.
Adamson chief tactician Nash Racela also announced the most recent development in their ongoing UAAP off-season and added that Tumaneng will be a huge boost in their campaign for post-season success in the upcoming tournament.
“We know how capable he is and we’re excited to develop him to become a more well-rounded big man dito sa Adamson,” said coach Racela.
The young Fil-Kiwi bruiser was scouted during the recently concluded SMART-National Basketball Training Center (NBTC) National Finals.
Tumaneng played for the Pinoy Mavs New Zealand team and led the squad with 13.7 points, 12.0 rebounds, and 1.33 assists per game.
In all his games played during the National Finals stage, Tumaneng was highly regarded as one of the most polished big men to ever grace the one-week hoops event.
A natural center who likes to operate in the right block, Tumaneng proved he is a huge offensive threat after also showing his efficient perimeter jump shot and his face-up game.
Tumaneng will still have eligible seasons in the Baby Falcons program before formalizing his entry to the men’s seniors roster of the Adamson program.
The savvy big man will have the chance to blossom under the leadership of Jerom Lastimosa, the team’s skipper last year who is already hounded by offers to play professional basketball overseas.
However, Lastimosa rejected all contracts being arranged to him after committing to have one last ride with the Soaring Falcons and deliver them the UAAP championship title this season.
