ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Eight personnel of the Capiz Electric Cooperative, Inc. (CAPELCO) were deployed to Guimaras to help restore power in the island province that was affected by typhoon Odette recently.
According to Engr. Edgar Diaz, CAPELCO general manager, they have been sending personnel to other places in the country affected by calamities as part of the “sisterhood of electric cooperatives tradition” under the Task Force Kapatid program.
It may be recalled that Guimaras Electric Cooperative, Inc. (GUIMELCO) also augmented the personnel of the Electric Cooperative when typhoon Ursula hit Capiz in 2019.
The eight personnel include team leader Arlan Dangan, drivers Glenn Datar and Mario de Ocampo, and linemen Remegio Delfin, Mauro Detangco, Ramil Fabila, Justin Fedalgo and Carmelo Daliva. They also brought with them a boom truck and a utility truck.
After restoring power in Guimaras, the same personnel will be deployed to Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental which was also hit by Odette.
Diaz said the team will be spending their Christmas and New Year in Kabankalan.
